About
Pays de La Loire
From the renaissance chateaux to the sandy beaches of the Vendee, this region is one of the most magical in France. There are over 800 chateaux as well as many museums & cathedrals to visit. The Loire valley part of the area is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world.

There are plenty of activities on offer from chateau tours, cycling, bird-watching, fishing, golf, hot-air ballooning, canoeing to kayaking. Of course the food and wines are excellent. The Vendee department is famous for sailing and is where the Vendee Globe competition is held.

The countryside is rolling and green, dotted with vineyards, forests and many winding rivers. The coastline offers wonderful wide sandy beaches as far as the eye can see.

The area offers a mild climate thanks to the coastal and Loire river influences. The latitude of the Loire is typically where people say the climate becomes markedly better. The area offers milder winters, warm springs, warm to hot summers along with warm autumns.

Access to the region is excellent. Airports include Tours, Angers and Nantes. You can also use Paris and La Rochelle. There is also TGV fast train access into Tours, Le Mans and Nantes. Motorway access to the area is also good. This is truly a magical area waiting to be explored!
